Formula
Effective DPI and physical rotation distances are calculated using standard spatial metrics:
1. Effective DPI: eDPI = Hardware Mouse DPI × In-Game Sensitivity 2. Cross-Game Conversion: Sensitivity Game B = (Sensitivity Game A × Source Engine Multiplier) / Target Engine Multiplier 3. Physical 360° Rotation Distance (Inches) = 16,360 / (DPI × In-Game Sensitivity × Game Multiplier)
Practical Example
A US competitive player sets their gaming mouse to 800 DPI and uses a sensitivity of 0.40 in Valorant. eDPI Calculation: 800 × 0.40 = 320 eDPI. Conversion to Counter-Strike 2: (0.40 × 3.1818) / 1.0 = 1.272. Physical Movement: This configuration requires approximately 16.1 inches of mouse movement across the mousepad to complete a full 360-degree turn.
